John Torode is an ex Aussie chef who now lives in London and is one of the judges on the UK Masterchef. Mezzo Cookbook was published 14 years ago when he was the chef at the Mezzo restaurant group. Some of the recipes in the book have an asian influence and this simple noodle dish served as dinner tonight.
It really is a quick stir fry of ginger, garlic and coriander paste, noodles, kecap manis and light soy sauce, sugar snap peas and bean sprouts. Once this is cooked up it is topped in the serving bowls with coriander leaves, spring onions, bean sprouts and chilli. Pleasant enough but I don’t think it gets a roster slot.
