Rabbit and Prunes

I bought some rabbit at the Vic Market on Saturday morning to make Rabbit and Prunes from Stephanie Alexander’s ‘Cooking and Travelling in South-West France’. I bought this book as much for the travel side of things as the cooking. A memorable family holiday a few years ago included walking for eight days in the Dordogne and this book features a couple of places we stayed and ate at and of course brings back a lot of other food memories.

I like recipes like this. A bit of prep and browning and then wack it in the oven and let a long cook do its work. We served with beans and potatoes prepared as for l’aligot which also comes from the book.

Double figures reached. 10 down, 217 to go.
